10Blues & Stout
©2002 Gibbens/Weston

I was ready to relax, man,
So I ordered up a pint of Guinness,
Went down to watch the axeman
Showing off his musical meanness.
This band are no beginners,
They’re all well-practised sinners.
Balding and grey,
They won’t go a long way
Cause they’ve already been it.
Blues and stout, blues and stout,
Worldwide and it’s never worn out,
And when you seek relief
From a week of grief,
Blues and stout,
Blues and stout.

Rolling and tumbling in Kilburn,
Sydenham, Mile End and Chiswick.
Blues make good of an ill turn,
They make you well ment’ly and physic’ly.
Give me Muddy and BB,
Guinness, Murphy’s or Beamish,
Sweet black and strong
Until they ring the gong
And my head is feeling creamy.
Blues and stout, blues and stout,
Worldwide and it’s never worn out,
And when you seek relief
From a week of grief,
Blues and stout,
Blues and stout.
