12Open Up the Doors
©2002 Gibbens/Weston

Once upon a time I had a good friend,
Once upon a night we had a bad fight,
And I was afraid it never would end
But now I think it’s going to be all right,
’Cause I undid the chain,
Slid back the bolt,
I lifted up the latch
And then I turned the key
And I opened up the door,
Opened up the door of my heart.
Everything inside is yours.
Everything inside is yours.

Once I hoarded all the good I wanted.
In this world you don’t get nothing free.
Soon I found that hilltop house was haunted.
The only one alive in there was me.

Just me – must be
Just me.
“Trust me…”

Once I kept a sharp lookout for strangers,
Had a black dog barking in my hall.
Since I met you I’ve been making changes.
I’ll be waiting ready when you call,
And I’ll undo the chain,
S
lip back the bolt,
I’ll lift up the latch
And then I’ll turn the key
And I’ll open up the door,
Open up the door of my heart.
Everything inside is yours.
Everything inside is yours.

Plenty people got a sneaky feeling,
Plenty people want what they can’t get,
But for all their creeping in and stealing
Still theyÕll never get us to regret
That we undid the chain,
Slid back the bolt
Lifted up the latch
And then we turned the key
And we opened up the doors,
Opened up the doors of our hearts.

Everything inside is yours.
Everything inside is yours.

Come on, open up the doorsÉ
