8Drinking Water
©2002 Gibbens/Weston

I’m going where the water
Drinks like cherry wine…
Cause this old river water
Tastes to me like turpentine.

They’ll all be friendly
But do they really care…
Talking bad luck and trouble,
You know I’ve had my share.

Paid me on payday
And I barely got it home…
Rentman came calling,
Now I’m looking for a loan.

Last time I saw you,
You were walking tall…
Next time I see you
With your back against the wall.

Gimme room to travel,
I’ve got my walking shoes…
Now if you’re a-comin’,
I’ll be goin’ too.

Going where the water
Drinks like cherry wine…
Cause this old river water
Tastes to me like turpentine.
