2Out Into the Light
©2002 Gibbens/Weston

We were speaking from the heart
And glowing in the dark.
We were dancing underground
And passing round and round.
We were stepping through the night.
Now we’re coming
Out into the light.

Now there’s someone you might know
Coming up from down below
And there’s something you might say
If he chance along this way.
I’m not looking for a fight,
I’m just looking
Out into the light.

If you’re waiting to be seen
At a doorway in between,
You’ll find they’ll all forget your name
Till you won’t know why you came.
I’m not telling wrong from right,
But is this the way
Out into the light.

I was talking to myself
As I climbed down off the shelf.
She can make a stone man sing,
She can disconnect a king,
She can give the blind their sight,
As I stumbled
Out into the light.

We were speaking from the heart
And glowing in the dark.
We were dancing underground
And passing round and round.
We were stepping through the night.
Now we’re coming
Out into the light.
