In Memory of Grace

Time for You
©2011 Gibbens/Weston

I’ll come to you tomorrow;
I’ll comfort you today.
You bear the weight, your weight of sorrow.
I won’t be long
Away.
Through all the hours of darkness,
Through all the hours of night,
You feel alone, alone in harness.
There is an end
In sight.

There is a turning in this long road,
There is a time to be.
For all your yearning, your heavy load,
There is a time for you.
There is a time for you.

You wonder will you make it;
You wonder what it’s worth.
One day the truth will catch us naked,
As at the hour
Of birth.
Our glories are stripped from us;
They go from dust to dust.
I’m hanging on, on to a promise.
What more is there
To trust?

There is a turning in this long road…

Sometimes you can’t be certain,
Sometimes you’re good and sure.
That poison dart is in there hurtin’.
God knows that time’s
N
o cure.
Days passing over heaven,
Night follows after dusk.
Your path is dark, steep and uneven.
Still you go where
You must.

There is a turning in this long road…
