Lay for the Day 14th
March
Albert Einstein was born on this day in 1879 in Ulm, Germany.
Unseen
Light
Beyond
a sphere of mist
and crystals,
of milling weather
green
things have exhaled
for
us, huddled together,
we conceive of space, discounting a grist
of dust,
as emptiness unassailed.
Yet
from their seething springs,
all ways
and at a single pace,
the
unseen rays race
out
and cross without a trace,
unstrayed and unslowing unless they fly
where
the wavelengths interlock as things
or
in at the tomb of our eyes
to die,
becoming there the light we recognise.
