There was a moment
For a moment
Just a moment ago
And it was travelling quickly,
It was moving slow,
And which way it went
I feel I’ll never know.
There was a moment

There was a willow
In the background
And a river up front.
Someone was humming the blues
And the weather was warm.
Your hand in the water
Was feeling it slow.
There was a moment
For a moment
Just a moment ago.

There was a fair
In the distance
And the music played loud.
It was the Miracles singing
‘Tears of a Clown’.
And I was ready
As I’ll ever be.
